Independent exhibition curator, notably for the American Dream revisited, at Galerie Hug, Paris (program 2015-2016), Co-curator for the exhibition La Nostalgie de l '(In) visible, at Galerie Embiricos, Paris (May 2016). L'Antichambre Project : The ecstasy room - n° 65
In the room of Ecstasy, time elapses in the Present / Serpent which slips into the interstices of an enclosed space, which has become intimate, surrending out to itself.
Trained in photography at the ENS Louis Lumiere, Doctor of Fine Arts (Paris I), Stephanie Solinas developed a varied practice including book and installation to further investigate the medium of photography. In her work, she explores the concept of identity as an area of contact between the self and the Other, the thinking process involved with the act of «seeing.»
She had solo shows at Fraenkel LAB (San Francisco), La Maison Rouge (Paris), FOAM Museum (Amsterdam), Marseille-Provence 2013, French Photographic Society, Saint-Eustache church (Month of Photography 2014, Paris), Eugène-Delacroix National Museum, Rencontres d’Arles, Carré d’Art in Nimes, etc. Her work is part of private and public collections, among others SF MOMA, Centre National des Arts Plastiques, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, CNAC Georges Pompidou/Bibliothèque Kandinsky, Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain PACA, Fonds Municipal d’Art Contemporain de la Ville de Paris, Musée de l’Élysée, Musée Nicéphore Niepce, Pier 24 Photography, etc.
Professor of Photography at Sciences Po Paris and at les Beaux-Arts of Rouen and Le Havre (ESADHAR), Stéphanie Solinas lives in Paris.
In 2017-2018, Stéphanie Solinas is resident at Villa Médicis, French Academy in Rome.
